Position Overview
We seek a highly experienced General Counsel with a robust staffing and recruitment background. The ideal candidate will be ready to step into a VP role and provide strategic leadership and expert legal guidance to our organization. This position will report to the Chief Operating Officer.
Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to executive leadership.
  • Oversee all legal, compliance and governance aspects of the company’s global operations including ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Manage and mentor a team of legal and compliance professionals, fostering a culture of partnership, excellence and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate legal risks and optimize business opportunities.
  • Lead negotiations and draft complex contracts, partnerships, and other legal agreements.
  • Stay updated on changes in staffing related legal and regulatory requirements across our global operations.
  • Providing “tip of the spear” insights and advice on new international markets and business lines we launch in.
  • Handle litigation and other legal proceedings, working closely with external counsel as needed.
  • Conduct internal investigations and ensure corporate governance and ethics are upheld.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and provide legal insights.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in the bar.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience practicing law, focusing on staffing and recruitment ideally with exposure to the “high-water” mark being set for the industry in states like Washington and California.
  • Proven leadership experience, ideally in a senior legal role within a comparable organization.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory environments in Staffing and Recruitment, with the ability to navigate complex legal landscapes.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management.
  • Experience managing and developing legal teams is preferred.
  • Exposure to international markets, such as Europe and Asia, is beneficial.

The salary range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $190,000 – $215,000.
