The Role
- Process payroll on a weekly basis. Ensure that correctness and completeness of the payroll is aligned with scheduled deadlines.
- Maintain and update employee files as required within the payroll (ADP WFN) and accounting platforms (Dynamics 365).
- Processing of hours within our timesheet system (Alphahire).
- Management of Payroll Inbox and Ticketing System by responding and resolving any pay discrepancies/inquiries from employees/vendors.
- Reconciliation of payments between accounting system and bank deposits.
- Support to Onboarding / Engagement teams on ad-hoc basis
- Back up other Team members during absences.
- Support in Quarterly and Year End Balancing
- Host employee benefit training and create benefit communication to enhance employee engagement with benefits.
- Administrate annual benefit audit and open enrollment.
- Stays abreast of emerging benefits trends, recommending changes or additional offerings to management for consideration.
Who You Are
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Payroll concepts and best practices in relation but not limited to labor regulations and compliance, is required.
- Experience with year-end payroll functions and reconciliation for T4s / RL1s is required.
- 3+ years of experience in a payroll or general accounting role is required.
- Knowledge and working proficiency with Excel (VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, etc.) is required.
- Exceptional analytical and organization skills are required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills is required.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines are required.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or an equivalent relevant discipline is required.
- It is an asset if you are working towards a professional Payroll designation (PCP, CPM, PM).
- It is an asset if you have experience using ADP Workforce Now.
- It is an asset if you are bilingual (En/Fr) and have native or business proficiency with French.
The salary range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $60,000 – $70,000.
