The Role
The Accounting Operations Manager plays a pivotal leadership role within the Finance department, providing guidance and development for a different teams such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Billing, throughout North America and Internationally. This position merges hands-on accounting expertise with effective people management, ensuring both the accuracy and integrity of financial operations. The role also aims to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
As the Accounting Operations Manager, responsibilities include overseeing the month-end close process for the accounting operations cycles (A/R, A/P, Billing) and driving compliance with GAAP standards. The manager serves as a mentor and coach to associates, actively participating in daily accounting activities, resolving complex issues, and implementing best practices. The ideal candidate for this role holds a Canadian or US CPA designation, demonstrates strong technical skills, exhibits a passion for developing talent, and maintains a strong commitment to operational excellence.

Oversee daily operations of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Billing Teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.

Collaborate with the Sales team and external partners to ensure the accuracy and completeness of billing and collection processes.

Monitor and analyze accounting data to ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regional regulations.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives, AI initiatives, to streamline workflows, enhance reporting capabilities, and strengthen financial controls.

Seek efficiencies to improve A/R, Billing and A/P cycle times.

Partner with regional Finance and business teams across North America, Europe, and APAC to align accounting operations with global objectives and support closing of month-end activities.

Assist in preparing schedules and reports to support financial close, management reporting, and external audits.

Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues stemming from data flow from different systems in a timely manner while maintaining a high level of data integrity.
Who You Are

5+ years of experience in finance, accounting.

Extensive experience in accounting operations with a strong understanding of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Billing processes.

Proven ability to lead teams, build cross-functional relationships, and work effectively with global stakeholders.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and operational best practices.

Experience supporting multi-region operations (North America, Europe, and APAC) is an asset.

Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics (or similar ERP systems) is an asset.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable to present clear thoughts to leadership and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications

CPA designation (or in progress).

Prior experience in staffing, recruitment, or professional services industry is a plus.
The salary range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $80,000 – $120,000.
