The Role 

The Accounting Operations Manager plays a pivotal leadership role within the Finance department, providing guidance and development for a different teams such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Billing, throughout North America and Internationally. This position merges hands-on accounting expertise with effective people management, ensuring both the accuracy and integrity of financial operations. The role also aims to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment. 

As the Accounting Operations Manager, responsibilities include overseeing the month-end close process for the accounting operations cycles (A/R, A/P, Billing) and driving compliance with GAAP standards. The manager serves as a mentor and coach to associates, actively participating in daily accounting activities, resolving complex issues, and implementing best practices. The ideal candidate for this role holds a Canadian or US CPA designation, demonstrates strong technical skills, exhibits a passion for developing talent, and maintains a strong commitment to operational excellence. 

  • Oversee daily operations of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Billing Teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. 

  • Collaborate with the Sales team and external partners to ensure the accuracy and completeness of billing and collection processes. 

  • Monitor and analyze accounting data to ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regional regulations. 

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, AI initiatives, to streamline workflows, enhance reporting capabilities, and strengthen financial controls. 

  • Seek efficiencies to improve A/R, Billing and A/P cycle times. 

  • Partner with regional Finance and business teams across North America, Europe, and APAC to align accounting operations with global objectives and support closing of month-end activities. 

  • Assist in preparing schedules and reports to support financial close, management reporting, and external audits. 

  • Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues stemming from data flow from different systems in a timely manner while maintaining a high level of data integrity. 
     

Who You Are 

  • 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting. 

  • Extensive experience in accounting operations with a strong understanding of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Billing processes. 

  • Proven ability to lead teams, build cross-functional relationships, and work effectively with global stakeholders. 

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and operational best practices. 

  • Experience supporting multi-region operations (North America, Europe, and APAC) is an asset. 

  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics (or similar ERP systems) is an asset. 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable to present clear thoughts to leadership and external stakeholders. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • CPA designation (or in progress). 

  • Prior experience in staffing, recruitment, or professional services industry is a plus. 

The salary range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $80,000 – $120,000.
