The Role
We are looking for a Data Science Intern to join Tundra’s AI & Innovation team as a recent graduate. You will support live client engagements across the full AI development lifecycle – from problem framing during proof of concept, through pilot, into production operation. The role is hands-on and applied, structured to develop the practitioner over the course of the engagement. You’ll be reporting to the Principal AI Architect in Tundra’s AI & Innovation team.

  • Prepare, profile, and clean data for new opportunities so analysis can begin without delay.
  • Execute evaluation suites for prompt and model changes; analyze and present results.
  • Build and maintain reference datasets and golden examples used by production AI surfaces.
  • Produce monitoring views and standardized reports for internal and client stakeholders.
  • Annotate ground-truth data and run validation against source systems of record.
  • Contribute to proof-of-concept sprints with hands-on analysis under the Principal AI Architect’s supervision.
  • Maintain clear documentation of methods, datasets, and findings.

Who You Are

  • You have a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline.
  • You are proficient in Python for data analysis, including pandas, numpy, and standard machine learning libraries.
  • You have working knowledge of SQL and relational data.
  • You have a strong foundation in statistics, hypothesis testing, and exploratory data analysis.
  • You are familiar with one or more of: LLM evaluation methods, retrieval-augmented generation, model fine-tuning, or applied machine learning.
  • You communicate findings clearly and concisely, in writing and verbally.
  • You have exposure to cloud data platforms (Azure SQL, Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent) and to version control with Git.

The salary range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $54,000.
