Let’s be honest… AI has changed recruiting a lot over the last few years. In many ways, that’s a good thing. The right tools can speed things up, remove friction, and take a lot of the admin off people’s plates.
But we’ve also all seen what happens when companies lean too hard into automation: great candidates get filtered out, hiring managers get buried in poor matches, and the process starts to feel impersonal… even disconnected.
That’s not how Tundra operates.
We use AI. It helps our team move faster, cut through busywork, and focus less on repetitive tasks. But we don’t let algorithms decide people’s careers. Tools can surface signals and patterns, but people need to make the judgment calls. The moments that matter most in recruiting still come down to real conversations, context, and experience.
Recruiting is a people business. Hiring decisions carry real risk. Career decisions carry real weight. Those decisions shouldn’t be made by a black box. They require judgment, nuance, and accountability. That responsibility sits with our team, not with software.
So here’s how we think about it at Tundra:
People make the decisions.
AI supports the process by handling the heavy lifting, but our recruiters make the calls. Who gets represented, how a candidate is positioned, when to push back on a job spec, and when a role isn’t the right fit. Those are human judgments, not algorithmic outputs.
AI informs…it doesn’t decide.
We use technology to surface insights and remove friction, not to replace judgment. Final screening, suitability assessments, and recommendations are owned by the people accountable for the outcome.
We use AI responsibly.
No black boxes. We’re deliberate about how these tools are deployed, stay current on evolving expectations around fairness, privacy, accountability, and are transparent about how technology fits into our process.
Outcomes matter more than tools.
We don’t adopt technology to look innovative. We invest in it when it leads to better hires, better decisions, and better experiences for candidates and clients.
We work with some of the most recognizable brands in the world. They trust us not because of any single platform we use, but because of the people behind the process; the judgment, the relationships, and the accountability we bring to every hire.
Simply put, technology helps us move faster and see more options.
Careers are personal. Hiring should be, too.

We use artificial intelligence tools to help our recruiters screen and assess talent. These tools do not replace human decision-making in the process.
